Jayden Koster has a Mechanical Engineering Technology diploma from Red Deer Polytechnic, but his education didn’t stop at graduation. An Innovation Lab Technician in the CIM-TAC since July of 2020, he has continued training on state-of-the-art equipment and learning how to use various software programs and tools.
“Each machine has different programming software that is unique to its purpose or function,” Jayden says. “Every project is challenging in its own way and can require something as simple as individual part files or as complex as full assemblies, multiple part drawings, and fabrication.”
Jayden’s role at the CIM-TAC mostly includes design, research, quoting scope of work, prototyping, and 3D modelling, and he looks forward to seeing the new and exciting projects that come forward. He is a member of the Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta.
Prior to joining the CIM-TAC, Jayden worked on construction projects in multiple national parks across Alberta and he still enjoys tinkering with anything related to carpentry, welding, and mechanics.
