Academic Requirements for International Applicants

*This page is part of the official Academic Calendar

In order to gain admission into an Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) program, international applicants must meet the academic requirements for their program of choice. International applicants should select their program of choice from the Academic Calendar and review the information in the “Requirements” section. The Office the Registrar will assess whether the courses an international applicant has taken throughout their educational history are recognized and international equivalencies for the described academic admission requirements.

Assessment of International Documents

Determine whether RDP can assess your international documents and what official documents are required, per this list.  If you have attended secondary or post-secondary education in a country that is not on this list, or if your documents are not in English, you must obtain an Educational Assessment from International Qualifications Assessment Services (IQAS).   Please note that there is a fee to receive an IQAS assessment, this is the applicant’s responsibility.

List of documents that RDP will assess for admission, by country.  Updated March 15, 2023.

The Office of the Registrar will accept “unofficial” or scanned documents in order to admit you to a program and provide a Letter of Acceptance; however, you must provide official documentation to the Office of the Registrar prior to the first day of classes. This is a vital step in the admission process and you will not be granted “clear” admission until this step has been completed.
