Becky Wylie-Jardine M.A.
Becky Wylie Jardine started out her teaching career at Red Deer Polytechnic by teaching Sociology, in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. In 2016, she was approached by the Associate Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences, to be a subject matter expert in the development of a Justice Studies Program for Red Deer Polytechnic. After much planning and deliberation, the new Justice Studies Program was launched in May of 2018. Becky was hired as the Head of the Justice Studies Program where she is involved in teaching and developing courses.
After high school Becky attended Mount Royal College’s Police Science Program, and transferred to the Bachelor of Arts Program, at Simon Fraser University, majoring in Criminology. She joined the RCMP in Vancouver, British Columbia, completed French Language Training in Montreal, Quebec, graduated from RCMP training in Regina, Saskatchewan, and was posted to Moncton, New Brunswick.
Becky took an Educational (LWOP) Leave Without Pay from the RCMP to return to University and obtain her Master’s Degree in Criminology from the University of South Florida, Tampa campus. She completed her thesis in the area of Dating Violence and then returned to work with the RCMP in Wetaskiwin, Maskwacis, and then Red Deer City Detachment. After 22 years as a police officer, she retired from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and pursued her teaching career at Red Deer Polytechnic.
