Social Work Volunteer Hours Placement Approval

Please, review the Criteria for the Social Work Diploma Volunteer/Employment Hours before submitting this form

The Social Work Diploma requires that you work or volunteer with a marginalized or disadvantaged population with direct client contact.  A minimum of 100 hours of volunteering or 3 months of full-time employment at one organization is required.  If you are still unsure about the validity of your placement after going through the above questions, please continue to have a faculty member review your opportunity.

Will you be working with a marginalized or disadvantaged population?
Marginalized populations are groups and communities that have limited opportunities to participate in the social, economic and cultural activities in society
Does the primary function of your role involve direct client interaction?
Direct client interaction is required for your hours to be approved.
Have you identified an organization at which you will be able to complete your hours?
You must have an agency selected in order to have your volunteer hours assessed.
Have you applied to the Social Work Diploma Program as Red Deer Polytechnic?
If "No" - Applications open on October 1st.  Volunteer/work experience hours must be current (within 3 years) to be considered for entrance to the Social Work Diploma program.
In order to have your Volunteer Hours placement to be evaluated by a Faculty member, you must identify the location. Sorry, you do not meet the criteria requirements and cannot be approved.
