Bachelor of Arts in Psychology

Psychology is the scientific study of thought, emotion, and behaviour with a focus on the dynamic interplay of biology and environment. Psychology is unique in that it is considered both an arts discipline (covering such topics as social psychology and personality) and a science discipline (exploring such topics as visual perception and the neurological processes involved in memory formation).

Bachelor of Arts, Multidisciplinary Studies

A Bachelor of Arts, Multidisciplinary Studies prepares students for life in an ever-changing world. As creative and global thinkers with advanced analytical and problem-solving skills tied to application in the real world, graduates of the RDP Bachelor of Arts, Multidisciplinary Studies will be prepared to enter a world in which they shape their own path and the world around them.

Justice Studies Diploma

Learn about the complex Canadian justice system. Understand how the Justice system works at the local, provincial/territorial, and federal levels. Develop an understanding and appreciation for cultural diversity. You’ll apply course content to real-world scenarios, professional seminars and a thrilling practicum placement. This program will inspire you to bring change to your community.

Social Work Diploma

Positively influence clients and your community. Promote ethical and competent practice, social and economic justice, respect for diversity, and relationship-building using an anti-oppressive lens. Understand the relationship between people and their environment. 

University Arts Diploma

University Transfer: Bachelor of Arts - Anthropology

Students studying anthropology explore humankind and the human experience from its beginnings to present day. Subject areas of interest include archaeology, cultural and biological anthropology, human evolution, ancient civilizations, and more.

University Transfer: Bachelor of Arts - Communications Studies

Communication affects everyone’s life at virtually every second of the day. We are constantly sending messages to each other, whether through our words, body language or media.

University Transfer: Bachelor of Arts - Economics

Economics studies how households, businesses and governments make choices about how to allocate scarce resources in order to best satisfy individual and social wants. The tools of economics can be used to analyse issues as diverse as unemployment, inflation, globalization, discrimination, environmental issues, taxation, health care and professional sports.

University Transfer: Bachelor of Arts - English

English is the study of language, literature, and literary theory, and it helps us to realize how powerful words are in our world.

University Transfer: Bachelor of Arts - General

In the Bachelor of Arts program, you will study a "major" or main subject of interest. The majority of your courses will be in that subject, while you will have the freedom to choose courses in other subjects to enhance your learning, providing you with knowledge and skills related to your individual goals.

University Transfer: Bachelor of Arts - History

History is the analysis of the human past. It addresses the various interactions among people in terms of cultures, nations, and defined periods of time to create an accessible narrative and critical analysis. RDP offers courses in the three main areas of Canadian, European and British history. 

University Transfer: Bachelor of Arts - Philosophy 

Philosophy is the study of thought and reasoning, with special application to abstract and conceptual areas of enquiry typically outside of the fields of the sciences, such as the Nature of Reality or Moral Values.

University Transfer: Bachelor of Arts - Political Science

Political Science is the study of politics and government, the location and use of power in society, and quests for human betterment.

University Transfer: Bachelor of Arts - Sociology

Sociology is the study of the organization of society and how individuals make sense of their lives and experiences. As an academic discipline, Sociology provides powerful insights into why and how people organize themselves and behave as they do, at work and at play, in families, groups, communities, organizations, and societies.

Academic Upgrading

The Academic Upgrading program at Red Deer Polytechnic helps open doors to further education and better employment. You can upgrade academic skills, meet entrance requirements for post-secondary programs, earn a High School Equivalency diploma, and prepare for entry into the workplace.

Open Studies

Open Studies is a unique, flexible and customizable program that allows students to take courses that help them work toward their career goals. Students in Open Studies may choose to take courses on a full-time or part-time basis.
