Overview
This summer, don’t wait for the fun to find you, go out and find it with Summer Adventures at Red Deer Polytechnic! Build new friendships, develop your skills, find new and exciting experiences, and have FUN! Choose from a variety of programming options where you can explore your creative side. ! Explore the natural sciences with Science Camp, learn to code in Applied Technology, create a culinary masterpiece with Cooking or learn skills, and be part of a team with Kings and Queens Sports Camps! Be prepared to explore and venture outside the classroom environment.
This year, we are excited to welcome Esports camps, where you can bring your own device and learn about competitive gaming.
Most day camps run from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Junior Chefs and Esports run from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Campers are required to bring their lunch and snacks.
Campers under the age of 12 must be signed in and out by a parent/guardian or other pre-authorized adult each day (before and after care is not available).

Arts & Crafts
Join us as we explore creativity and artistry in a variety of arts and crafts adventures. All arts and crafts camps will allow campers to discover their artistic side, learn new techniques, and experiment with a variety of artistic media.

Babysitting/Home Alone
Babysitting is a great first job for many young people, but do you know what to do if something happens that you weren’t expecting? Join a certified First Aid instructor, who is teach you how to deal with emergencies. By completing this Summer Adventure, you will receive a First Aid Certificate.
Whether you are babysitting, or staying home by yourself, you can be confident that you know how to react to emergencies and avoid dangerous situations that might occur in your home. Basic CPR and First Aid training will also give you the confidence to use everything you learn this week as tools to become the go to babysitter in your neighbourhood.

How about a Christmas Adventure this summer?
Red Deer Polytechnic’s Dance Camps will let you see what happens behind the scenes at our annual Nutcracker Ballet. All levels of ballet dancer are invited to come and discover the magic with a week of dance, fancy costumes, tea parties, building friendships, and FUN!

Esports are one of the fastest growing forms of entertainment. Whether you like to watch, play, or have aspirations of turning pro, our new Esports camps will help you to learn more about competitive gaming, and help you gain an edge on competitors, all while having FUN! Bring your own device to participate!
This fully supervised camp is designed around the interests of the group. It can help you get into amateur tournaments or professional play, where top-tier talent goes head-to-head for prizes in high-skill games. The esports industry is driving global demand for professionals with the training and passion to manage this surging form of entertainment.
This Summer Adventure takes place at the Red Deer Polytechnic Downtown Campus.

Junior Chefs Cooking Camps
Gain confidence as you learn to cook in a safe environment that encourages discovery and creativity! Our highly trained instructors will ensure that you receive a hands-on learning experience that will help you develop a life-long love for culinary arts!
Each day will include learning about food handling, preparation, and safety in the kitchen, while introducing cooking techniques that lead to delicious results!
Are you heading off to College or University? Need help with budgeting and easy to prepare meal tips? Join our one-week "Preparing for Independence" camp that will take you in to the grocery store, the kitchen, and the bank. Be prepared for campus life and surprise your friends with a home cooked meal.

Explore the new world of Esports. Learn about where the sun goes at night, what bacteria looks like, how to create sticky and messy concoctions in our science camps, or how to explore coding, robotics, and innovative creation in our technology camps.

Kings & Queens Sports Camps

Train, grow, and have fun with Sports Camps at Red Deer Polytechnic! Based on the Long-Term Athlete Development Model, Sports Camps provide athletic training that optimizes performance in a supportive and fun team environment. Competitive campers can attend camps specific to the sport they are most passionate about or participate in All Sport, where they will have the opportunity to explore multiple different sports.
Senior-level Sports Camps are customized clinics led by professional coaches and college-level athletes. Athletes are challenged physically and mentally as they grow their critical thinking, communication, and team-building skills both on and off the field or court.
