Biography

Amy has been a nurse educator since February 2015. She began her journey as a part-time clinical instructor in the BScN program and moved to a sessional position in September 2015. In November 2018 she received her Masters of Science in Nursing degree with a focus in nursing education. In December 2020 she moved into a continuous position in the BScN program.

Amy has been a registered nurse in Central Alberta for 19 years, having graduated from Red Deer Polytechnic’s BScN program in 2003. While she has worked in various areas of nursing, she has spent most of her career in orthopedics. She received her specialization in orthopedics from the Canadian Nurses Association in 2008. Her interest in nursing education began and grew while preceptoring nursing students from Red Deer Polytechnic’s BScN program.

Amy is currently working on achieving Canadian Certified Nurse Educator designation.
