The global situation with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) means that each of us has an important role in preventing the spread of illness.
For complete details, please visit the Alberta Health Services website at ahs.ca/covid.
As general good practices, please remember the following:
- wash your hands frequently
- consider wearing a mask in public
- cough or sneeze into a tissue or the crease of your elbow
- keep tissues handy
- avoid hugging or shaking hands with others
- stay home if you are ill
The Government of Alberta and Alberta Health Services provide hand hygiene, mask wearing (including a video on how to wear a mask) and physical distancing tips to help people adapt to the COVID-19 situation.
Beginning August 24, Red Deer College requires students, staff, faculty, employees, partners and visitors to provide and wear face coverings on campus to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to keep everyone healthy and safe on campus and across our community.
The College will not be providing face coverings for general use, but there are rare exceptions, as RDC will procure masks for instructors and students in RDC’s health-related programs who will be providing direct patient care in practicum or lab settings. Individuals employed in RDC’s Health, Safety and Wellness Centre and other certified first-aiders will also receive masks.
Starting on this date, face coverings must be worn at RDC:
In all common areas
Whenever a two-metre physical distance cannot be maintained
By everyone over two years old
