Biography

Anne Marie Watson is the Virtual Presence Coordinator at Red Deer Polytechnic Library. In this role, she creates original online content, acts as editor-in-chief for the Library’s online content, and ensures that the Library’s virtual presence is organized, professional, easy to use, and accurate. She has worked at RDP since 2000 in various roles, including Librarian, Reference Assistant, and Library Marketing & Events Coordinator.

Anne Marie’s professional experience has been in academic, public, and special libraries in Alberta.

Community Involvement 

Anne Marie has been an elected Trustee for Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools since 2010, including serving as Chair from 2017-2020. Since 2013, she has chaired the Student Council for the Students’ Association of Red Deer Polytechnic (SARDP), and was a charter member of the Rotary Club of Red Deer Urban Spirits. She has also served her community as a Senator for the University of Alberta (2013-2019) and as a volunteer to help plan Red Deer’s centennial celebrations in 2013.
