Residence COVID-19 Precautions

Residence is an important part of the college experience and we are striving to help create a safe space here on campus during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The health and safety of our residents is our top priority. Residence is following Alberta's health guidance on post-secondary institutions on how to help reduce the possible exposure of COVID-19 on campus and within Residence.

The following precautions are in addition to any rental agreement, or the Residence Handbook during COVID-19. These guidelines will be updated if guidance from the province changes.

Required

  • Face coverings are required in all indoor spaces on Red Deer Polytechnic’s campuses as of 8:00 am on September 4. Please see Face Coverings for additional details.
  • Maintain a two-metre physical distance from one another
  • Check in each day you are on campus using the COVID-19 Contact Tracing and Alberta Daily Health Checklist using the SAFE RDC App.
  • Stay home if you are ill. If you suspect your illness may be related to COVID-19, then visit the Alberta Health Services website for more information or contact Alberta Health link at 811.
  • Complete an Illness Reporting form if you exhibit COVID-19 symptoms, have had a close contact or have received a positive COVID-19 result, as described in Illness Reporting Procedures.
  • Wash your hands and/or use hand sanitizer regularly. More than 300 hand sanitizer stations have been installed throughout our campuses.
  • Follow provincial health guidance on indoor social gatherings.

Strongly Encouraged

  • Consider receiving a COVID-19 vaccine, as it suits your health and wellness circumstances. If you have questions about the vaccine, please consult a health professional or visit the Alberta Health Services website, which has an FAQ section with a range of questions and answers.
