Program Content
Course Descriptions
Lead from Within | LEAD – 120
In this course, you will begin the formal application of the leadership characteristic you have chosen to develop by modeling its usage in your personal and/or professional circumstances. You will learn, explore, and understand the importance of positive relationships in planning and problem solving. You will apply more deeply the Action Centered Leadership Model (Adair) and the interconnectedness of task needs, team needs, and individual needs in the creative problem-solving process and reflect on your progress as a mentor.
Lead Like a Boss | LEAD – 121
In this course, students will begin the formal application of the characteristic they have chosen to develop by modeling its usage in personal and/or professional circumstances. They will apply more deeply the Action Centered Leadership Model (Adair) and the interconnectedness of Task needs, Team needs, and Individual needs in the Creative Problem-Solving process and reflect on their progress as a model and mentor.
Leading Outside the Box | LEAD – 122
In this course, you will learn the six-step process of Creative Problem-Solving and implement the process with your team. The major focus will be in collaborating with your team and facilitating collaboration within your team as they collaborate on mapping the “How” of joint project goals, based on the importance of the “Why”. You and your team will complete Reflection Analyses of your work to critically assess your progress and make adjustments.
Leading with Heart | LEAD – 123
In this course, you will revisit your EQ assessment and learn to identify the biases in your leadership style/operations. You will develop empathy as your learn and share the importance of differing perspectives, and how to incorporate diverse perspectives in building team, consensus, and goals. These perspectives will then be encouraged and included in making, modifying, and meeting the team goals. Transparency will also be reflected as you move through this process, together with reflecting on why Transparency is fundamental to Leadership. You will also reflect on this process and include your learning and conclusions in your Leadership Development Plan.
Leadership Motion | LEAD – 124
In this course, you will reflect on everything you have learned about yourself and Leadership in this program. You will examine how you can move forward using your learning and experience and how your experience has impacted yourself and your team. You will examine your LDP, reflect on how it has changed, and create a new LDP using your new understanding of yourself and your skills as a leader.
