
Brianna Johanson
Biography
Brianna has worked as a Registered Nurse in Alberta since 2007. She began her career in medicine after receiving her certification in Nephrology. After a decade in this field, she transitioned to Intensive Care, earning another certification. Brianna has also contributed to the Central Alberta Sexual Assault Response Team as a Forensic Nurse Examiner. Post-pandemic, she shifted to a role as a nursing instructor at Red Deer Polytechnic, bringing her extensive clinical experience to help learners transition into this profession and apply their knowledge in practical settings. Brianna believes that the best nurses not only master technical skills but also maintain a focus on the humanity of their patients, thereby embodying the art of caring, fundamental to nursing practice. She aims to instill in her students the significance of thorough nursing assessments, timely interventions, and appropriate care, all while embracing the role of a nurturer. Nursing is a field that Brianna is profoundly proud of and excited about. She hopes to inspire her students to not only love the career for what it is but also for what it can become.
