Chantel Kiraly
Biography
Chantel Kiraly is a Registered Nurse with a background in surgical nursing. Chantel started teaching at Red Deer Polytechnic in Fall 2020 as a part-time clinical instructor for both the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) and Practical Nurse programs. Chantel has held a Sessional Instructor position with the BScN Program since Fall 2021. Chantel has taught acute care and long-term care courses, including clinical, laboratory, and lecture delivery formats.
Chantel started her Master of Nursing (MN) degree at the University of Calgary in Fall 2022. This is a laddered degree that includes two Advanced Nursing Practice Certificates. Chantel completed her first specialized certificate in Palliative and End-of-Life Care and is working on her second certificate in Innovations of Teaching and Learning. Chantel is projected to complete her MN in August 2025.
Chantel has been involved in several working groups and committees at RDP including a Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) working group, the Nursing Faculty Fun Committee, and a Professional Development working group for the Polytechnic’s nursing programs. Additionally, Chantel is the Faculty Champion for the Nursing Mentorship Program. In 2021-2022, Chantel worked on a Pilot Study on HyFlex Course Delivery, alongside the principal investigators Heather Cole and Kasey Fulton. Chantel was awarded the Marguerite Schumacher Spirit of Nursing Award in 2023.
