Biography

Dan Whiteside teaches communications, storytelling, and creative think tank. Dan is a published writer in literature and video games. Under the pseudonym, David Daniels, he has published Black Menagerie and Black Menagerie 2: Frost and Flame. Dan also worked for the AAA games studio, BioWare, on such projects as NeverWinter Nights, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and Dragon Age Origins. Dan has also written and directed a short film called Tik Tok Doom. Besides all his writing projects, Dan has also directed and narrated an audiobook of Black Menagerie.

Dan’s focus in research is on gender studies in media, the influence of media on culture, the impact of choice in video games, and many other pop culture related topics. He has presented papers at conferences all over North America and enjoys writing papers with controversial titles and topics.
