Biography

Dr. Prowse Turner has a Ph.D. from the University of Saskatchewan and a Post-Masters Certificate in Counselling from Athabasca University and is a Registered Psychologist in Alberta. Her expertise is in the areas of cognitive development, trauma, and perinatal mental health. She teaches courses in abnormal psychology, personality psychology, clinical and counselling psychology, and psychology and law. Dr. Prowse Turner’s current research is applied and community-focused with a focus on the relationship between trauma and peripartum experiences. Additionally, she is exploring the relationship between procrastination and emotional dysregulation. 

Dr. Prowse Turner is currently completing a project titled “An Exploratory Analysis of the Relationship Between Birth Trauma and Childhood Trauma” which is funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
