Biography

Kristina became interested in a nursing career while managing a division of a private homecare company in Central Newfoundland and Labrador in 1999. Kristina completed the Licensed Practical Nurse program in 2002 and started working in long-term care, acute care, medicine and mental health units. Kristina moved to Alberta in 2005, taking a full-time position with Peace Country Health as a Personal Support Coordinator for Homecare, where she supervised Health Care Aides in providing care to Clients in the community and Lodge setting. Kristina has continued her nursing experience in various areas, including complete physical health assessments, specimen collection, drug screening, post-accident breathalyzer and spirometry function for oil field employees. She was an instructor for the Health Care Aide program at Columbia College in Calgary, Alberta, teaching theory, clinical and lab classes. 

Kristina has thirteen years of experience as a hemodialysis nurse and was a two-term Council Member and one-term Vice President of the Council for the College of Licensed Practical Nurses. Kristina accepted employment with Red Deer Polytechnic in March of 2023 and is excited to share her Nursing knowledge, experience and passion for continuing education with Red Deer Polytechnic students entering the healthcare profession.
