Biography

Leanne Vig is a faculty member in the Donald School of Business, Science and Computing. She supports and mentors faculty in teaching excellence and professional development, program review, curriculum and course design, flexible learning environments and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL). Her research interests include mid-career faculty development, Indigenous education in business, online and blended learning and SoTL.

Leanne’s scholarly work includes conference presentations on rejuvenating mid-career faculty, SoTL in the polytechnic sector, a framework for quality online courses, online course delivery, faculty journey to reconciliation, and innovation in accounting education. She is an award-winning faculty member, recognized by RDP with a Recognition of Scholarly Activity Award in 2017 and a national academic accounting association in 2016 with an Innovation in Accounting Education Award. Leanne has held chair positions on the Recognition of Scholarly Activity and Research and Scholarship committees at RDP. 

Leanne is an alumna and former long term faculty member of the Business Administration program at RDP. She has significant industry experience in public practice and small business. Leanne earned her Certified General Accountants (C.G.A.) designation in 1999, a Master of Business Administration in 2013 and has also more recently completed two graduate certificates to develop her research interests.

Leanne believes strongly in modeling continuous professional development and lifelong learning for faculty and students. She has also recently returned as an interim Faculty Professional Development Consultant for the RDP Faculty Professional Development Committee, a role she previously held from 2015-2018. Leanne was recognized for her leadership and success in hosting RDP’s Spring 2017 Faculty Indigenous Awareness Conference and her contributions to the 2019 ACIFA Conference hosted by RDP.
