Biography

Patrick is a mathematics instructor with a research background in representation theory for Lie algebras and Yangians. As a Red Deer local, his professional journey began right here at Red Deer Polytechnic, where he began post-secondary studies in 2007 before going on to complete a Bachelor and Master of Science in Mathematics at the University of Alberta.

He returned to RDP in 2014, this time as an instructor teaching mathematics courses including Calculus and Linear Algebra for Science/Engineering students, as well as Higher Arithmetic for students in the Polytechnic's Bachelor of Education program. Since then, Patrick has also come to be known as an active contributor to various outreach initiatives in our community including “Math Fairs” and “Math Teacher Circles” which are events wherein local students and teachers can participate in recreational problem-solving activities that utilize common mathematical thinking strategies.
