
Stacey Bliss
Biography
Stacey Bliss, PhD, is an interdisciplinary researcher, educator, and project leader with over a decade of experience securing and managing research funding. Prior to joining RDP, Stacey had successfully written and managed 14 research and funding proposals, including three Tri-Council SSHRC-funded projects as Principal Investigator, and led multiple collaborative studies across Canada and internationally. Her expertise spans qualitative research, collaborative and co-created ethnographic studies, arts-based and community-based projects.
With a Doctorate in Education from York University (2019), Stacey's research is with the interplay of contemplative education, sound studies, and critical studies in improvisation. She has served as a Research Associate on the SSHRC Partnership Grant for Critical Studies in Improvisation at the University of Guelph and as a Guest Scholar at the Humanities Research Institute at the University of Regina, where she led an SSHRC-funded sonic-ethnographic study. She is committed to pushing the boundaries of traditional research methodologies and dissemination to promote community engagement, innovation, and social change.
Stacey has collaborated on and led local, national, and international workshops and events, such as Mindful Mondays for the Mental Wellness Hub at the University of Regina and sonic trainings in Toronto, Calgary, and Punjab, India. As a consultant, she was Project Manager and Communications Consultant at Linden & Arc Vitality Institute in Calgary, where she worked closely with medical professionals to translate quantitative research into accessible content for the public.
Because of her diverse academic and professional experiences, Stacey enjoys managing complex and dynamic projects and collaborating with people across disciplines to foster community-building and innovation.
