Biography

Werner Beylefeld is Dean of International Education at Red Deer Polytechnic. 

He brings with him well over a decade of experience in leading successful international strategies, teams, projects missions and programs, both in the post-secondary sector and government roles. 

Throughout his career, Werner has developed a vast network of strong and strategic partnerships within the public and private sectors, in the post-secondary sector as well as various other industry sectors, from across the world.  

Werner has a strong background in post-secondary executive management, including in international student recruitment, international student support services, study abroad, international partnerships, operational management, stakeholder engagement, strategy development and management, finance and operations and international program development.  

Werner has been a delegate, a presenter and a keynote speaker on international education to many international conferences, including the Canadian Bureau of International Education (CBIE) Conferences, the UNICA International Higher Education Summit, Cape Town South Africa, the Association of Commonwealth Universities Senior Leadership Summit, Accra Ghana, the Association of International Educators Conferences (NAFSA) in the USA, the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) Heads of Mission annual gathering in Ottawa, Canada and more. He also served on the Executive Board of the Canadian International Council, South Saskatchewan Branch. 

Werner has led numerous high level international missions, including to China, Ghana, South Africa, Germany, Belgium, and more.  

Werner’s work in international education, international recruitment and international relations include director’s positions at the University of Regina and the Government of Saskatchewan, before joining Red Deer Polytechnic.
