Métis Week at RDP
Métis Week in Canada, celebrated each November, honours the Métis Nation’s unique history, culture and contributions to Canadian society. This week also commemorates Louis Riel’s legacy and his dedication to Métis rights and cultural identity. Traditional Métis activities like jigging, fiddle music, beadwork, storytelling and ceremonies create a vibrant atmosphere that fosters cultural pride, as well as opens discussions on reconciliation and the historical challenges faced by the Métis community.
At Red Deer Polytechnic we’re marking Métis Week with a series of events that invite students, faculty, staff and community members to come together, learn and celebrate. Please join us and feel free to invite others to participate.
