RDP Features Diverse Student Experience Opportunities at Fall 2024 Open House
Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) is ready to welcome prospective students and their families to the post-secondary institution’s Fall 2024 Open House:
Saturday, October 26 | 9 am - 1 pm
Main campus (100 Donald Boulevard, Red Deer)
This interactive event will provide opportunities for attendees to learn more about the Polytechnic’s breadth of industry-relevant programming and student services.
“We are excited to welcome high school students, their families and mature learners who are considering a dynamic post-secondary education at Red Deer Polytechnic to our Fall 2024 Open House” says Lindsay Engel, Vice President, Academic and Student Experience. “At RDP, we offer enhanced education, training and applied research opportunities that equip graduates to become leaders in their fields, helping to address labour market demand in Alberta.”
In addition, prospective learners can interact with RDP’s faculty and staff to learn more about specific programs. Individuals can attend demonstrations, participate in try-a-trade activities and tour the Polytechnic’s main campus and Residences. There will also be sessions about funding and scholarships, including one specifically for parents. A complimentary lunch will be provided to guests in the FarSide Bar & Grill, beginning at 11 am (while supplies last).
With credentials that include degrees, diplomas, certificates, micro-credentials and apprenticeships, Red Deer Polytechnic provides a valuable range of programming that suits the diverse interests of learners and also meets the dynamic needs of industry across the province.
The Polytechnic offers more than 80 industry-relevant programs in Business, Computing, Creative Arts, Education, Engineering Technologies, Health, Humanities and Social Sciences, Sciences and Skilled Trades. RDP also provides numerous opportunities for career development and growth through Continuing Education and Corporate Training.
In Fall 2025 Term, the first cohorts of learners will begin their studies in RDP’s Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics Diploma and Advanced Accounting Diploma. Each of these programs includes a Co-op Specialization where learners will apply their knowledge in real-world settings through structured work experience.
As one of Canada’s Top 50 Research Polytechnics and Colleges, RDP continues to grow its multi-disciplinary applied research capacity in four areas of focus: Manufacturing and Advanced Manufacturing, Health Care and Health Technology, Energy Innovation and Social Innovation. This not only provides unique opportunities for students, faculty, staff and businesses, but it also helps to address industrial and societal challenges in Alberta, Canada and around the world.
At Fall 2024 Open House, prospective students will be able to submit an application with no fee to attend Red Deer Polytechnic. Support with the application process will be provided in RDP’s Library from 9 am to 1 pm. Red Deer Polytechnic is currently accepting applications for Winter 2025 Term, Spring 2025 Term and Fall 2025 Term.
