About the Bachelor of Fine Arts - University Transfer
Combine studio-based technical skills and theoretical knowledge in this university transfer program. Under the guidance of experienced faculty who are all practicing artists, you will experience foundational artistic principles, drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, art history and professional practices.
We offer state-of-the-art studio spaces fully equipped for ceramics, sculpture, painting, drawing and design. A broad range of visual experiences will help you form a visual arts vocabulary and master skills in composition and technical areas. Emphasis will be on creative growth, visual maturity in studio work across a broad range of required and optional areas.
Throughout your time at RDP you will have the opportunity to take transferable coursework and develop a robust portfolio to successfully transfer to a university and complete your degree. Transfer into programs besides the Bachelor of Fine Arts is also possible, both at RDP and at other institutions.

Up to 20 course equivalents taken at RDP can be transferred to institutions like the University of Alberta, University of Calgary, University of Lethbridge, Alberta University of the Arts, NSCAD University and the Emily Carr University of Art + Design.

Qualified applicants who meet all minimum requirements will be offered admission on a first-come, first-served basis.
Academic Requirements
Students applying to Bachelor of Fine Arts must have a minimum of 60% with no mark below 50% in:
ELA 30-1
Subject from Group A, B or C
Note: Students who enter the program with English 30-2 must take English 30-1 or the equivalent (English 095) and may not complete the program in four terms. English 095 is not credited towards diploma requirements as it is equivalent to high school English 30-1.
Additional Requirements
English Language Proficiency
Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency in addition to the program admission requirements.
Prior Learning and Transfer
Students presenting courses from other recognized post-secondary institutions may be granted transfer credit towards the Bachelor of Fine Arts, visit Recognition of Prior Learning and Transfer Credit to learn more.

Graduation Requirements
You must pass 20 term university transfer courses or a minimum of 60 credit hours, and achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 to receive a Diploma in University Transfer Studies.
