Begin your journey into a rewarding teaching career with the new Bachelor of Education degree from Red Deer Polytechnic. After completing a common set of courses in your first year, you will then choose a specialization to complete your degree in early years, middle years, or secondary education.

The one-year Early Childhood Education (ECE) Leadership Development Certificate provides students with the opportunity to remain employed while obtaining the necessary competencies to excel as an Early Learning leader.

In the Educational Assistant Program at Red Deer Polytechnic you will build your skills and confidence to effectively work in an inclusive and diverse educational setting. Learn to be part of a team supporting students in K-12 classrooms.

Graduates of the four-year Bachelor of Education program (University of Alberta) and the five-year combined degree program (University of Alberta and The University of Lethbridge) are eligible to apply for Teacher Certification in the Province of Alberta and all other provinces. RDP offers up to two years (60 credits) of transferable coursework in these programs.

If you enjoy learning and working with youth and have a desire to make a difference in students’ lives, the Bachelor of Education/Science Combined program is for you. You will gain experience through classroom observation, special projects and teaching opportunities while making personal connections with the education community.
