Individual Certificate Descriptions

Residential Heating Troubleshooting Certificate (one week)

Residential Heating Troubleshooting introduces students to the core principles and hands-on skills needed to diagnose and repair residential heating systems with confidence. Designed with learners in mind, this course blends foundational theory with practical, step-by-step troubleshooting exercises. Students will explore real-world scenarios, build critical thinking skills, and develop a systematic approach to identifying and resolving heating system issues. By the end of the course, learners will be equipped to perform professional-level service and maintenance on a variety of residential heating systems.

Residential Cooling Troubleshooting Certificate (one week)

Residential Cooling Troubleshooting equips learners with the essential knowledge and hands-on experience needed to confidently diagnose and service residential cooling systems. Through a practical, learner-centred approach, students build a strong foundation in cooling system theory while actively developing the skills to apply systematic troubleshooting techniques. By focusing on real-world scenarios and guided practice, this course empowers students to become capable, professional technicians ready to tackle the challenges of residential cooling service with precision and confidence.

Completion Requirements

Learners must successfully complete all course activities and assessments to complete each course.

Admission Requirements

Learners are expected to be Journeyperson Certified in plumbing, gasfitting, sheet metal or electrical.
