
Selené Huff
Biography
Selené Huff is a visual artist currently based in Amiskwaciwâskahikan (Treaty 6 territory), Edmonton, Alberta. With a background in aerospace welding, Huff earned her Journeyperson’s ticket from NAIT in 2016 before completing her Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture at the University of Alberta in 2020. Her artistic practice explores the transformation of industrial detritus from Alberta’s landscape into biomorphic sculptures and performances. Through forging and fabrication, Huff reimagines discarded materials, creating evocative corporeal forms that explore the connection between body, material, and human experience. Her work has been exhibited across Alberta and the U.S., and she has contributed to large-scale public art projects in Canada and the U.K. Her artistic research has been supported by NSERC/Canada Council for the Arts, the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, and the Edmonton Arts Council.
An engaged educator and community member, Huff has been teaching since 2019, sharing her passion for both the arts and technical craftsmanship. As a visual arts technician and instructor, she brings practical knowledge, creative insight, and a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment for students. Huff is currently teaching 3-D Fundamentals and working as a Visual Arts Technician at Red Deer Polytechnic.
