RDP Royals Dance Competitions
The Red Deer Polytechnic Royals Dance team rehearses up to four hours per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, two hours each evening, plus stretch and strength sessions as scheduled. Our team competes in three competitions in March and April, listed below are the festivals we currently attend.
- Great Canadian Dance Challenge (Showtime Dance Productions), Fort Saskatchewan
- Standing Ovation Dance Festival, Red Deer (Hosted at Red Deer Polytechnic or Fort Saskatchewan)
- Danceworks, Central Alberta Dance Festival (Hosted at Red Deer Polytechnic)
In addition to the three competitions, the Royals Dance team performs at Red Deer Polytechnic's Kings and Queens home basketball games, as extras in productions or as requested for campus performances. Our team has also performed at events such as the Festival of Trees and Red Deer Lights the Night.

April 5-6: Danceworks, Central Alberta Dance Festival
The Danceworks Central Alberta Dance Festival is hosted by Red Deer Polytechnic and will take place from April 5-6 on the RDP Main Stage in the Arts Centre. See detailed schedule below:
