Red Deer Polytechnic's academic schedule provides the Polytechnic community with important dates to help everyone plan their schedules.
The academic schedule shares information such as:
- when classes start and end each semester
- when final exams take place
- when Reading Week is held
- various other dates associated with academic and operational activities.

| Sep 4, 2024 | First day of classes for Fall term. |
| Sep 9, 2024 | Last day to apply for Supplemental Exams for Summer term. |
| Sep 12, 2024 | Last day to register, add or drop Fall term or Full year courses. Last day for tuition refund. Supplemental Exams for Summer term written. |
| Sep 30, 2024 | National Day of Truth and Reconciliation - Polytechnic closed. |
| Oct 1, 2024 | First day to apply for Fall term 2025. Emergency Response Day. |
| Oct 14, 2024 | Thanksgiving Day - Polytechnic closed. |
| Oct 15 - 18, 2024 | Reading Break - No credit classes. |
| Oct 21, 2024 | Credit classes resume. |
| Oct 25, 2024 | Mid-term feedback for Fall term. |
| Nov 8, 2024 | Final Exam schedule posted. |
| Nov 11, 2024 | Remembrance Day Holiday - Polytechnic closed. |
| Dec 9, 2024 | Last day of classes for Fall term. Last day to withdraw from Fall term courses and receive a WD. |
| Dec 13, 2024 | First day of Final Exams for Fall term courses. Last day of course waitlist for Winter term. |
| Dec 18, 2024 | Last day of Final Exams for Fall term courses. |
| Dec 19, 2024 | Deferred Exams written. |
| Dec 20, 2024 | Last day for submission of final grades for Fall term courses. |
| Dec 23, 2024 | Final grades available. |
| Dec 24, 2024 | Polytechnic closed at noon. |
| Dec 25 - 31, 2024 | Polytechnic closed. |
